Have yet another one! \o/

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He's five feet, eight and a half inches tall, weighs 128 pounds, and his blood type is B. I'd prefer to say that he's toned; he's muscular, but not excessively, and fit.

2. How old is he?
Depends on your canon: in the manga he's 18, in the anime he's 21, and in DDD he's 23.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
If he's not standing tall, it means he's hurt himself and he's holding a hand on his injury (usually his right shoulder). Ban is extremely confident of himself, and it shows in the way he carries himself.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Healthy as a horse. He rarely gets sick - when he does, it doesn't last very long or it's due to some sort of curse (i.e. Hades making him almost fatally sick to get back at Rider).

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Quick and surprisingly fluid. There's a reason why everyone knows him as a fighting genius after all.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
He's good-looking....okay, fine, he's hot. Clean-cut (no facial hair), toned (take his shirt off and he's pretty muscular - as I said before, not holy shit excessively ripped, but it's there), lean. Yeah. He tends to not look in mirrors very often though - he knows he's good-looking, but a glance in the mirror sometimes brings back bad memories. Nowadays a look in the mirror is for daily things (teeth brushing, face washing, etc), tying a tie, and making sure he's not blushing.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Slightly paler than Ginji, but not ghostly, and clear. No facial scars...actually, no visible scars when he's clothed.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Brown, bushy, and thick. When he was younger he wore it long; even now when it's down, it's nearly shoulder-length. Nowadays, it's usually spiked up all over, which is why some people call him a "sea urchin" or "urchinhead." Rando Ayamine (artist for the GB manga) has said that Ban's hair is the hardest to draw consistently.

9. What color are his eyes?
Blue; cerulean is what I usually use to describe them. An almost unearthly shade of blue, with the pupils taking on a slitted snakelike look when the Jagan is in use.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
He has a scar in his torso from his "suicide," and in the manga he gets a crosslike scar/wound across his chest during the deathmatch with his father Der Kaiser. His ears are pierced, although he didn't wear anything in them for a long time, up until this past Valentine's day.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
Shoulders, jaw, and right hand.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Depends on the canon: in the anime he wears the same thing all the time, save for two instances (Stradivarius retrieval and Venus's arms retrieval) - a white shirt that flares out on the bottom, blue slacks, brown shoes, and a dark grey undershirt that's usually ended up torn and made into a one-shoulder shirt. He's more fashionable in the manga, although the normal outfit is the one previously described. And the glasses - circular violet shades with silver frames that he is almost never seen without (they're so he can look at people without activating the Jagan; thus when they're lowered, you're in trouble). Haruhi took him out shopping a long while back so he wouldn't look so much like "a hobo," sometimes Rider will get him some new clothes or outfits. and when he has money on occasion he'll pick up some new clothes. Usually the style is casual, but he can dress up when necessary/when it's asked of him. He prefers darker colors.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
His shirts tend to be pretty fitted - not constricting, but not entirely baggy - and he wears regular-style, sometimes bootcut slacks. If it's not comfortable, he won't wear it (unless asked/if necessary).

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Basically, unless they have to go "undercover." Then he'll wear what's necessary.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
He prefers boxers. Sometimes boxer-briefs (not too often), and I think he's gone commando once or twice.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Dub or sub? Either way, it's someplace between high and low, with his Japanese voice lower in tone than the English.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Evenly, easily, with a definite sarcastic tone, and lots of self-confidence.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Not particularly, unless he's speaking a language outside of his main ones; when he speaks Greek, it sounds a bit harsher than usual due to him being used to Japanese and German speech.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
German is his mother tongue, with Japanese the second and English the third. All three are spoken with native fluency. Greek is still being picked up, both from Rider and self-teaching. I tend to stick with the notion that he can speak or at least understand most European languages, since most of his childhood was spent reading and then living on the streets.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
He tends to speak the language of the place he's at, switching to Greek/German when he and Rider are together, and the rest...as necessary. Also, when he visits Maria, they'll switch between Japanese and German, since she practically raised Ban, and he'll revert to his mother tongue when he's pissed off.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Always impromptu. He's good at thinking on his feet, and usually knowing exactly what needs to be said, although it can come out with a biting tone to it.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Both? His speech is mostly casual; when he's angry, it's short and biting, almost degrading to animalistic snarls and growls. Rarely does he get nervous and stammer - one of the few times he was genuinely nervous while speaking was when he proposed to Rider. No stuttering or stammering, but he was very careful with his words and nervous as all hell inwardly.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Very, in both book and street smarts. He spent his childhood reading everything and anything he could get his hands on; when he was in the streets, it took him no time at all to adapt to the cruelties of the real world. This is another contributor to his self-confidence; he's a cocky bastard because he knows exactly what he's talking about, whether it's explaining the makings of an atomic bomb, talking about Vincent van Gogh, or living on the streets as a kid.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He's excellent at thinking on his feet, and also with planning more elaborate schemes (even if some of them require a Plan B, C, or just winging it).

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Logistics to get to the bottom of a situation, intuitive to get someone riled up in order to use the Jagan and really give 'em a mindfuck, idealistic when he's just bantering and musing over things with Rider/trying to get more work, and practical when it's needed.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Absolutely none. What hasn't been self-taught was taught to him by his grandmother the Witch Queen and Maria Noches, as well as life experiences.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
He is a fighting genius - this is a well-known fact in both manga and anime canon - and much more intelligent than anyone gives him credit for. Hell, when he plays violin, everyone assumes he used the Jagan, is shocked when he says he was actually playing, and then he said "It's really not that big a deal. Let's just get to work." Right now, he's more interested in learning about paternal things - he wants to be a good father, damn it - more Greek, and he kinda wants to learn how to play the guitar.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
He's an extrovert on everything except himself and Rider to an extent - he doesn't like discussing his past, he won't talk about anything personal, and he won't kiss and tell. Also, he won't discuss anything about Rider's past or personal issues without her permission or her being there, whether physically or in the conversation.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Mostly laid-back, very driven when it comes to work, and mostly even-tempered. When you set him off though, you have hell to pay - if you live through it. Most of the time, he's a pretty happy guy - it's when you catch him in a quiet or melancholy mood that you should worry.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
All but timid. If there is one thing Ban isn't, it's timid.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act. Definitely acting before reacting.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
He's going to stand his ground and fight until he's unconscious. He didn't get to where he is now by just running away all the time.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
He. Mocks. Everything. If he knows you, he has a nickname for you. If he doesn't like you, you aren't gonna like the name he has for you, and he WILL call it to your face whenever he can. His sense of humour is heavy on the sarcasm, heavy on the poking fun at others, and sometimes it's to the point that you're not sure if he's actually kidding or being serious. With Rider, it's more teasing than sarcasm - he enjoys telling her that she is indeed cute (because goddamnit she is at times) in order to catch her off-guard and see her blush.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Nope. Surprisingly enough.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
His mother disowning him. His grandmother telling him when he had to "die" for their family, and that he is forbidden to love. Running away from Maria to live on his own. Meeting Yamato and Himiko, and then killing Yamato. The fight against Ginji/Raitei. Forming the GetBackers. Meeting Rider, and then falling in love with her.

14. What does he fear?
Being alone again. Losing everyone, especially Rider, Aradia, and Ginji. Turning into his father.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
To actually pay off the damn tab, and live a long, happy life with Rider and Aradia.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Either the incident with Akabane, or that he's a closet romantic sap.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
His mother disowned him, screaming that he was a monster and a demon child. His father ditched him not long afterward, and he was raised first by his grandmother and then Maria before taking off to live on his own - WHEN HE WAS STILL A KID.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
...this is more confusing than it needs to be. Animewise, he is an only child. Mangawise, he and Himiko are either cousins or siblings (through consanguinity....somehow....). So I just go with the notion that they're distant cousins, although he does regard her as a little sister.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Hell if I know his mother's still alive; his father, on the other hand, is. Sort of. He doesn't care to speak to either of them - he's already had a deathmatch with his father in which Ban came thisclose to killing Der Kaiser. His grandmother is dead (or so we think), and he'll speak to or visit Maria when he needs to. So, the only blood relative he has that he actually DOES love is his daughter Aradia.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Rider is his wife whom he loves more than anything. Himiko is the above-mentioned "little sister." Ginji is his best friend and practically a brother, and the rest of the Honky Tonk crew is a pseudo!family unto itself.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Ginji Amano is his best friend - the two met when Ban wandered into the Limitless Fortress and took Ginji on when he was Raitei (Lightning Lord); as it is, Ban is the only person to have fought Raitei and beaten him. Not long afterward, Ginji left the Fortress, and the two became the third-generation GetBackers (if you go by manga canon, Der Kaiser and Paul Wan were the first generation).

6. Does he have other close friends?
Kyo Kusanagi, Haruhi Suzumiya, Issei Ryuudo, Tieria Erde, Ten, Allelujah Haptism, Rose, Leon Kennedy, Larsa Solidor...those are the names that immediately come to mind (though the first two have since left the community). Sakura Matou is also a good friend of his, and someone he'll go to for advice regarding Rider.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
It's a little of both? He'll talk to people easily, but with the way his attitude is, it can be tough for him to make friends, what with the whole sarcasm/blunt thing going.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
They're equally important to him, though family is a bit moreso now since he actually has one of his own.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Rider is his wife of almost a year, and they have a child - an infant daughter named Aradia. This is his only marriage.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
First crush? Fffff....I have no idea. But his latest one is still Rider.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Intelligence, honesty, strength, have their wits about them, and a backbone (no doormats need apply). A sense of humour is a must; if you can banter with him and keep up, you get bonus points.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
An infant daughter, Aradia. He's still new to fatherhood, but he adores her.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Takuma Fudou (until Ban killed him). The Miroku 7 (until Ban defeated them). So the only real rival Ban has nowadays is Kuroudo Akabane.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
1. There was the ceremony he, Maria, and Lucifer performed to bring Toshiki Uryuu back to life - and Kazuki better be damn grateful for it. >[

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
It's enjoyable, and a damn good workout, seeing as he and Rider rarely go at it just once a night (at least before Aradia was born, lol). It wasn't a big thing on his mind early on though; at least not until he met Rider and they spent their first night together - then it wasn't so much "having sex" or "fucking" as it was "making love." He can go without if he has to - it's not the end of the world if they don't have sex - but he's definitely not going to push Rider away if she's in the mood...unless it's for a bet. And even then it's difficult.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
He has a bit of a blood kink, so there's definitely scratches and bite marks when he and Rider are finally spent. Also, whispering or murmuring his name - bonus points for a breathy stutter - and slight dirty talk (i.e. tell him what you're going to do or what you want him to do). Rape is a definite turn-off, and major pain; he'll bite, he doesn't mind being bitten or scratched, but no hardcore S&M stuff, and he doesn't want her to be in pain, either.

....idk if this counts as a weird bedroom habit, but he likes holding Rider afterward, nuzzling her and listening to them both just trying to catch their breath. It's the closet romantic side.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
He's a Sagittarius, no idea on the Chinese mythos, and born under the star/sign of Asclepius. He fits it pretty damn well, tbh, save for the whole work thing.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Moreso spiritual, but mostly neither. It's not that important; other religions are interesting, but whatever you worship is what you worship. It really makes no difference to Ban.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
He won't kill unless he has to, and he won't break promises unless given permission by the person he promised (which is pretty much the only reason why Ban wasn't the one who killed Shinji Matou). Killing unless necessary is to protect others from his strength, and because honestly....what's the point in killing? The promise thing began with Yamato - he made Ban swear to kill him when the Voodoo Children curse came to him, and then made him promise to keep an eye on Himiko. Later on, when Rider made him promise not to interfere with her Servant duties, as much as it pained him to, Ban agreed, and upheld it.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Tolerant/indifferent. He comes from a witch clan, for crying out loud; he's the last person to have the blood of a true witch running through his veins.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He doesn't trust most figures of authority, since he's seen the corruption that goes on, and doesn't trust shamans of any kind, since they're, well, trying to kill him.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Forever in debt. Whenever the GetBackers get paid, most of the money goes right back to their employer due to fees and whatnot, and the rest goes to the police for tickets/car towings, and trying to pay off the ginormous tab.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
He's the sole grandson to the Witch Queen, so....her house was pretty damn nice? He was pretty well to-do up until he left Maria, and then it was the streets, and then living in the Subaru 360 up until the loft above the Honky Tonk. It hasn't really changed him; Ban is pretty damn good at adapting to change.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in a loft apartment above the Honky Tonk café with Rider and Aradia. It's nicer than one would expect; it was originally shared with Ginji until Rider moved in.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Necessities for the baby and the cat, gifts for Rider, and saving up for trips/paying off the debt/surprises.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He's a GetBacker, dammit. >[ AND YES HE IS DAMN GOOD AT IT...when they get work. He enjoys it - the jobs are never identical, it lets him travel and kick ass...and he can't really imagine doing anything else. He absolutely refuses to get a different job - the thought of doing the same thing day in and day out would bore the hell out of him.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Reading, driving, playing the violin on occasion, trying to get work, and just spending time with Rider, Aradia, and/or his friends. Most of his free time is spent either trying to get work or sitting at the bar in the Honky Tonk waiting for the phone to ring, and with Rider and Aradia.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
He's used to not being able to eat a lot due to, oh I don't know, BEING BROKE. That said, he can cook a bit - nothing complex, but a decent meal - and does so sometimes. When he can gorge himself, you can bet he will, because who the hell knows when he'll be able to again? His favorite Japanese food is saltwater eel sushi, and yes, he does drink (it's even canon: he drinks beer and wine in the manga).

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? Blue
2. Smell? Rain
3. Time of day? Night, when the moon's high in the sky, just around midnight.
4. Season? Winter
5. Book? Almost anything. Black Beauty stands out because it's one of the first books he read to Rider.
6. Music? ......idk
7. Place? The Subaru 360. Anyplace with Rider.
8. Substance? Tobacco; Ban is a smoker, although he's trying to quit (he rarely smokes now, wheras in canon he has a cigarette practically 24/7)
9. Plant? fffffff, no idea yet
10. Animal? Snake
