Prostitution is already illegal, making it more illegal will only force it into ever darker shadows where even more depraved exploitation of mostly young women can occur

It's legal here, and it doesn't really make things good. I'm for keeping it legal, though - no need to make it worse than it already is.
However - it took me talking to a couple of sex workers to realise that. I never really heard their arguments - just the right-wing ones. Polarisation is bad. :o(
I'm certain prostitution can not be candy coated, and is teh suck for sex workers. I cannot believe that forcing the whole matter under the rug by criminalizing it doesn't seem to me a rational way to deal with a huge huge industry the thrives all over the planet.
On the other hand, I've neither known, nor patronized, any prostitutes, so I'm probably pretty ignorant about the whole thing, I just feel that its always better to face a complex problem head on with everything on the table than just look for ways to lay blame and stick people for cash or put them in jail. There's got to be a better way.
I wish they'd do some interviews, find some statistics, to find out what the sex workers want. I used to be in favor of the Swedish solution (banning buying, but not selling sex), but the way they've refused to even try to find out how the sex workers themselves feel about it paired with how they tell everybody it's for the right of the sex workers - well, that smells of hypocricy.
I don't mind the no-pimping laws, though. They could be better, but they do some good.
