So I've got a question for you all. I'm feeling out of touch with "new" music. Nah, not the crap they play on the radio (not that I have a working radio, mind you), but the stuff all the cool kids are talking about. The one thing that everybody in general is talking about

Ok Jason I'm not the demographic that you so carefully laid out seeing as I could have written this post myself. Well, here's my 2 cents worth anyhow.
I've been really stuck on the new Grizzly Bear and the new Animal Collective. I've been fans of both for a while, but love their new stuff.
Friends at work are trying to get me into Tiger City. Although I like Ssion better.
I stumbled across Mayer Hawthorne on you-tube the other day and knowing nothing about it/him and was blown away. This cut had me convinced it was a rare cut from the vault or somthing. So the fact that he is a chubby 30 something white guy should give us both hope! =)

I am for better or worse transported back to the 60's because of the beatles re-releases, so I new-dar is not turned on at the moment.

The Antlers, Hospice - I can't stress that enough. Just a gorgeous record.

I've heard a little of the new Destroyer. Smart money's on that one ruling some faces.
