Still in the land of the living!

Well, I am still alive, mainly living life offline [yes, it is possible! learn the secrets now for only 50 easy payments of $99.99]. Work is keeping me exceptionally busy, as well as taking care of my girlfriend [a lovely four door model with plenty of trunk space]. Most GM cars went to electronic ignitions in '75. At that point they were a chunk in the distributor and if it went out your car stopped dead in it's tracks. Most people kept a spare one in their glove compartment.

Actually on the 250's they stuck with the standard points based ignition up until the late 70's and even in a lot of cases up to 1981. Also, the HEI and other electronicly controlled ignition systems of the 70's-80's are actually surprisingly easy to bypass with even Autozone or even Wal-Mart grade parts. A bit homeskillet I admit, but I don't really to have to worry about it anyways. Not to mention I even keep a spare carburetor in the trunk as well as belts, hoses, fluids, alternator parts, starter parts, and even a few ignition parts like an extra cap, rotor, points, and a couple plugs and wires, plus I have the obligitory spare tire, jack, and suspension bushings, coil springs, and extra taillight lenses. Gotta be prepared . . .
