Guilds are like online families. I lead a small family guild on eq2 and the guildmembers are some of the people who called and sent mail in game to make certain my mother was alright when she had her heart surgery. Some of them I have known for *does math* 5 years now or so. I stopped playing eq1 entirely when our old guild Equilibrium merged with another and then died. The friends in the guild were the reason I played by that point.
