The VA Tech shooting is so close to my heart, being from Virginia and also attending college there. I knew tons of people who went there, I've visited there, and my friend's parents from Fredericksburg even moved there after visiting their son and loving Blacksburg. VA Tech has a reputation in Virginia for being a prety open and chill place to go to school, where everyone is rather friendly and the classes aren't nervous-breakdown causing hard (unless you are in some advanced programs), making it so shocking that something like this could happen there. I started crying and I know if I was still at William and Mary I would be terrified of even going to class. Really, if it could happen at a place like VA Tech, it could happen anywhere

I totally agree with you, and I think you strengthened the point I was trying to make - that if anything, what this guy represents is the lack of personal responsibility we see every day in the public acts of our society.
I'm sorry to hear that this hit so close to home - and really, most of us have attended college or know someone who currently is, so we an all relate.
