I've opened and now I'm closing, the only person in my department for the day because my co-worker called in sick. The assistant manager is "in meetings" all day (whatever that means), and my manager is on leave. A super tall, lanky guy just came in wanting to use our courtesy phone. He had stringy, greasy dyed platinum blonde hair with a bad case of dark roots, an oversized coat, glasses, a face like Iggy Pop on his deathbed, and long painted red nails.

Unfortunately, not everyone makes as good of a woman as Cillian Murphy.

New Years is a time that serves merely to remind me of how terrible of a year I've had, accompanied by a mild sense of relief that it's over and that I can close the book on it. I think I'm going to take the Amtrack this week. I don't know where, but I just know that I would enjoy going on a train to somewhere. I have December 28-January 1 off, so everyone should visit me or accompany me on a train ride. We will have fun, I promise.
