Netiquette

There is always discussion about Netiquette. I get very divided about it. On the one hand I'm all for manners. It's not nice to steal work, especially if you know where the work comes from and I go to quite a bit of effort to track down and get permission if I want to use something that someone else has created. Sometimes I'm denied permission ( Read more... )

Oh, that is not nice of this Janie person! Bad person! Good for this other vidder for being annoyed. I hate when vidders are far too lazy to cut their own clips!

I think its worse too, when they do it without informing the original person, even when they know who they are. If someone really wanted to do a vid and couldn't rip an ep for whatever reason and asked me, I might say yes with credit. I like to encourage creativity, but I don't really like this sort of thing.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Words can't explain how annoyed this makes me, especially when the quality of the originals is made to look bad.

In this case, she answered someones praise by saying she spent a lot of time selecting her scenes. And yet she left in 2 effects that I created. One a really subtle one, that I manipulated to fit the music, and it doesn't appear in the eps, the way I did it. So I do know that it was my work copied and not just a coincidence of same selection.

says she: I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I spent hours editing vignettes from the series, matching each scene to the music, in an effort to define the story of John and Jo's love for each other. Regrettably, some of the scenes are lacking in resolution quality due to poor tv reception where I live.

sad hey?

I think it was the comment that inspired her. The one where she claims all the work.
