Notes To Self...

A few reminders to myself for when I next read fanfic:

1. Accept that writers' comprehension of Grammar has been irreperably corrupted.
Do not get angry every time "lead" is written instead of "led", "breath" instead of "breathe", the various to/too/two/etc and there/their/they're are confused. This will only lead to a terrible headache.

Points 2 and 3 I can readily agree with, but not point 1. Sorry, writer, but if your grammar is so atrocious it makes me cringe to read it, then your story isn't worth my time.

The funny thing is, so many of the stories have excellent spelling and grammar *except* for one or two little things confused. I think some people have blind spots to certain things - like the fact that despite the fact that I know better, my mind keeps telling me everyone has blue eyes. So you can read a story, get caught up in it, until part-way through you're at that snag and wanna headdesk, but by then you're invested and want to see where the damn story's going.

For me, the lead/led is also such an overwhelming peeve above the rest that I tell myself I'm just overexaggerating sometimes ;) And then it becomes #3 again :D

(P.S. I'm online today if you wanna come play :-p)
