Day 38

Oct 20, 2008 19:26

Ticket System worked awesomely for 6-1 and 6-3, but not 6-2 :( Probably my fault due to lack of prep (yeah, don't do that).

Weekend was awesome! Canvassed for Obama in Chester, PA, and made phone calls for Congressman Joe Sestak in Media, PA. Stayed and chatted and caught up with my friend Lauren! Yay!

Florida in 1.5 days!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that it's Obama's race to lose at this point. Of course, all manner of voting protocol infractions have occurred at this point, so we can't write off the election in anyone's favor yet. What with ACORN's fake registrations and the GOP's voter roll purges, who knows how things will shake out on the 4th.

Meanwhile, I'm so tired of this idiocy that I feel inclined to vote for Joe the Plumber.

The fake registrations mean nothing because ACORN flagged them for the local Elections Boards as probably fraudulent, so the vast majority of them were likely never processed or added to the voter rolls unless there was corroboration from the voter that they happened to have the unfortunate name "Mickey Mouse" or submitted a correcting affidavit as to their proper address.

The GOP purges and voter suppression attempts, on the other hand, are cause for concern. However, unlike 2000 and 2004, where all they had to do was successfully cheat in one state, here, they would have to get away with rampant cheating in multiple states.

Obama is definitely ahead, but we're not taking anything for granted! I'll definitely be doing Get Out the Vote in either Pennsylvania or Virginia.
