The Insanity of Facebook

Facebook has been an interesting experience for me. I have a MySpace page, but I think I'm just too old or lazy to deal with all the personalization and having to log in all the time. Since this LJ is supposed to be a chronicle of what's going on, I figured it was time to post about the most...unusual...thing that has happened thus far due to FB ( Read more... )

I created a profile on a sort of FB-like social networking site geared to military and former military folks. Someone I knew years ago looked me up via the site and it left me pretty perplexed. Brief history: she told me (years ago) she was interested in me, and I found myself in a very awkward "in like." Then I figured out I wasn't the only one she was interested in. Tragedy struck in her home life, and in an effort to make a fresh start of everything, she told me she didn't want us to stay in touch. The way she said it wasn't very kind. So for her to reach out to me via this site was actually surprisingly difficult for me to read. I haven't logged back in since. (Irony: song I'm currently listening to is Apocalyptica's "I'm Not Jesus.")

I am very glad that you received the apology you deserved, and that you feel it has laid to rest the turbulence your relationship created. That's wonderful!!
