That was the best fan story ever! At least you managed to get your words out. This is something I wrote in my own journal: the celebrity in question is Michael Palin from Monty Python and the many travel TV shows he does for the BBC:
Standing outside in the cold, clutching my "Himalaya" book to get it signed, saying to somebody that he looked like he was glowing, then my feeble attempts at conversing with him: Palin: Hello there. Ian: *smiles and passes sheet with my uncle's name to him* Palin: Glan...ffrwd... That's an unusual name. Is it Welsh? Ian: Err, yes...*giggles like a schoolgirl*. Palin: *Signs uncle's book and Ian's book*. Ian's head: *Nearly bursts with things to say to him as body shakily walks away*.
Seeing Charlotte Church in town was even weirder -- I was so shocked, I just walked right by her with crazy wide eyes.
