It is incredibly rare that I decide to post a review of a movie, video game, or similar chunk of entertainment...so I'm gonna start tonight, and I'll possibly post more as I decide to do so.

I've seen two movies recently. First, we will start with the good movie...

You were the one person I was sure would not go see Twilight. Most of your criticisms are valid (the one exception being that Forks, WA is really real). In fact, most of the things you criticized, I said myself when I first read the book. "That's right, they don't die, they don't turn into ash, or a pile of rotting flesh and melted bone...they fucking sparkle," is nearly a quote I said to my co-worker Lois back in March.

However, once I threw out all of my pre-conceived notions of vampires, I actually started to really enjoy the story. There's something compelling about it that I can't explain. No, it's not well-written. It will never become a classic. But it's enjoyable, like a bubble-bath for the mind.

Now, the movie I'm still undecided on. It had all of the important elements of the book, but it lost it's charm. And, by your review, seems to have lost some of the character motivation as well. If you're not sure why James and Victoria are hunting Bella, the movie failed.

What did you think of Edward's car? :)

Forks is real! Man, I need to know Washington better...cool! That makes it...better I guess.

The car kicked ass! That's the one you're getting, ain't it?

That's the one! I'm leaning more toward white or dark gray, but since I'm likely buying it used, I won't be picky. I love the car, but it was a poor choice for the movie because all of his brothers and sisters are supposed to fit in it (it's got 4 bucket seats) and Edward Cullen would *never* buy the base model. It's still frickin' hot, though, and I cheered nearly every time it was on the screen. It was the best part of the movie! I can't wait to get one.

Forks is real as is La Push. The movie, however, was filmed in St. Helens, OR, Portland and surrounding areas (with the exception of the part where they drive past the Welcome to Forks, WA sign. That's the really real sign for the town).
