Since about 9/12/01, the standard Republican reasoning has gone thusly:
If we don't stand up to al-Qaeda/Taliban/Iraq/Iran/_____(Bogeyman of the month goes here)___, then the Muslims will take over and we'll all be reduced to Dhimmitude. Therefore, we're all best off if we ignore _____ until we whip them Ay-rabs, and argue over the rest later.
They're not entirely wrong. France spent most of this decade with significant problems from their Muslim immigrant community. I'm talking about rioters with antitank weapons springing buddies out of jail, Muslim men doing honor killings of Catholic women, that kind of trouble. It's why France's President is now the nearest approach to George Bush that they have in politics today. Despite a much more aggressive domestic response, Germany's also worried. I'm not sure why this doesn't get reported in the US media.
Given his Mr. Crutchley's words, I presume he still finds that argument convincing. Certainly, in countries where Sharia law holds, it's not safe to be homosexualI think he
