We just got back from 2 days hiking and camping in the Negev and it was awesome. I can't tell you how surreal everything is. We went to the Flour Cave yesterday and the walls feel like chalk dust and we walked in total darkness with bats over our heads and it was all just so phenomenal. It often feels far more like Mars here than it does Earth. And

I'm waiting for pictures to upload so browsing some websites and found your comment - Jake and I asked about this and it turns out the Negev and the Judean are pretty much right next to each other but seperate. For example, Masada is in the Judean, but it was like a 15 minute drive from Arad, which is in the Negev. The Negev is part of the Desert Belt (which I hadn't heard of but I think it includes the Sahara and stuff like that) and the Judean isn't.
That's all the info I got on it :)
