I feel even worse today, still coughing but also nauseous. Had yet another crap night's sleep. I just feel frustrated, there's so much I want to get on with and really can't, unless I make myself more ill. So, I've spent this morning reading another article on welfare nationalism, a bit more David Harvey and now I've moved onto Polly Toynbee's Hard ( Read more... )

And yet your bosses, who sit on there arses in that hideously decorated headquarters on the Mound think it's ok to make thousands of people homeless or indebted to their eyeballs; fund private flippin equity, and pay themselves £100millions...

And what's worse is Labour (or just about anyone else) is offering no different options - a discourse of social justice and solidarity. They're just peddling the same Neo-Liberal nonsense about global competitiveness etc.

Hello, Germany is still the largest exporter in the world - yes that's Germany with it's really flexible labour market, no worker's rights, low pay and massive inequality.

And here I was worrying that I'm going to get instantly evicted from my pretty London flat if I don't find a job immediately. Though I've never been flush, I've always had enough money to be comfortable and I feel so sad for those people who are trying as hard as they can to get by. A lot of middle class meanies lump everyone below them as scroungers and debt-dodgers, but you're right, there are a lot of honest hard-working people in Britain who are getting a raw deal.
