Social weekend + Tai Shan

A busy weekend. Lots of social activity. Friday played spades with our friends PJ and Julie and then dashed off for the midnight showing of Iron Man (highly enjoyable). Saturday we spent at the DC Rollergirls event, where Scare Force One almost lost. Then spent Sunday at the zoo with many good folks. It was a gorgeous day. Took lots, and lots ( Read more... )

I'd like to go see that zoo someday! It's the National Zoo?

Yes. It's not a *great* zoo. The San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park are better/bigger (in my opinion), but they do have a few nice qualities. It's free (except for parking).

They've had a lot of big cat cubs in recent years. And of course Tai Shan is just a little shy of 3 years old now. So there are a few attractions well worth seeing.

If you ever do wander this way, and we're still here, we'd be happy to show you around the zoo. :)
