Choke vs. Chock

I learned a new word today!

I couldn't remember how to spell "choke," so I looked up that spelling and my friend's suggestion on dictionary.com.

so...
choke is what I thought it was: to stop the breath of by squeezing or obstructing the windpipe; strangle; stifle. (and a lot of other related definitions)
and

Then again when I was learning English we stuck to the most common uses of words, so it figures! :)
