So...
The BIG question/confusion has been cleared up as much as I think it's going to be.
I guess JK had to rely on slippery slopes, because this seems -- well, uhh, -- slippery...

The Confusion was over how Malfoy became the Master of the Elder Wand, and how Harry then took Mastership over from him.

Draco becomes Master:

It does, doesn't it? ;]
My friend got the idea to read about Dumbledore's death again, so then we found the disarming thing.

You're Welcome.

Harry's broom is lost in the very beginning of the book. When he's leaving he's on the motorcycle with Hagrid and they get attacked? Both Hedwig's cage and his broomstick fly out and he grabs only the cage.

I'm almost certain he meant he was going to put it in Dumbledore's tomb, the wand that is.

yeah, the wand; not the broom. lol
tomb makes sense.

no, i get that with the broom.
just, why didn't he try to get it back? I mean, summoning charms, and all that? It seems like he'd want his broom back.
or maybe I just want him w/ his broom back.

Well, for one thing his mind was elsewhere. He was concentrating more on surviving than anything else. Then later, I think he was too far away for it to work. I'm almost certain there is some sort of limitation on the ACCIO spell.

For instance, I'd imagine, that it can work without knowing where something is only when that something is nearby. Like when disarmed of your wand or some such. For great distances I'd be willing to bet he'd have to know exactly where the broom was for it to work.

Besides, no Quidditch in this book. I doubt he had any real need for the broom.

oh, haha, true.
that makes sense.

otherwise, voldie would have been distance-disarmed before he split himself in pieces, and done for long ago.
=D
