so, yeah, wow - been a while. Lack of an internet connection does that to you I suppose. Finally got virgin installed where I'm now living though so I no longer have to rely on the few and far between times when I steal Al and Luggage's internet ( Read more... )

Hey Nat! - I thought you'd given up on LJ. =) I've been away myself this last week, hence my own late catching-up.

It was great to see you at the Gathering (and the Carvery!) and I enjoyed contributing to Hides's ritual.

Sorry to read your NOT list though: "my faction not roleplaying" and "jackals in general".
What on earth happened?! - and do you really mean all the Jackals, or just some people? I wasn't aware of any slack roleplaying or generally being rubbish between The Golden City (who are perhaps 10% of the Faction!) and you, but would like to know if there was so it can be sorted out.

Hey Jules :) Yeah, lack of internet was not fun for four months!

It just felt like a huge effort to actually role-play with people. I spent some time on the gate, and other than Oulee's none of them actually roleplay. I think it was mostly just because it was a Gathering and there were lots of once a year larpers there which seemed to drag the level of roleplay down quite a bit.

There are some Jackals, you're guys, Sultan, Kelala and a few others who are awesome and who I really enjoy roleplaying with but it just put me off the faction. So you might not actually see alot of Hides next year. The idea was always to join the Vipers with the rest of the Tribe, might be doing it a bit earlier than planned though now.

I had an excellent time thanks! A cracking group which I love, some great roleplay (though I think you may well be right about some of the once-a-year larpers - smaller events tend to have the best atmosphere), interesting shenanigans in the Guild, some very good Mage action both on and off the battlefield, and I managed to achieve nearly everything I set out to do, including the stuff I didn't think would be possible ( ... )
