This the season to be patriotic

Ahahaha I knew I should have posted this yesterday, but eh, we're doing some independence day celebration back then and I can't really missed that you know?

Anyway, guess who has a special day on 17th of August?

HAPPYbelatedINDEPENDENCE DAY INDONESIA!!

I hope my scurvy hand writings are not making your eyes hurt, mi amigos.
-------------------------------
There be author's note below:

1. Just until recently, Indonesia and Netherlands have different perception about Indonesia's date of Independence day. For Indonesians, their independence day was 17 August 1945, the date when the independence was proclaimed by Soekarno and friends. Meanwhile for the Dutch, Indonesia's independence day was 27 December 1949, the date when the Netherlands officially transferred sovereignty to (then) United States of Indonesia. This caused some frictions and uncomfortable feelings in their bilateral relations. But finally, on 17 August 2005, the Netherlands officially recognize the date as the correct date for Indonesian independence day, and thus dissolving the uncomfortable atmosphere and rapidly boosting up their relationship as if being injected with new blood. Hahaha wtf the idiom.

2. We're not getting tulips from Netherlands at that day of course, just uh some strengthening on security pact and stuffs. Oh and if I'm not wrong we got some rebates for buying new submarines from them though, but eh, Netherlands giving some discount vouchers for Indonesia is really not appealing for the comic yes? so unromantic As the result, I made him give tulips, a specialties of Netherlands. ^//^

3. The color red and white is to represent the color of Indonesia's flag, but in flower language, red tulip means declaring your love to your partner, cream-coloured tulip means that you will love your partner forever, and tulips in general means 'The Perfect Lover' hahahahahahhahaha. Believe me, I just knew about this after I made the above comic I swear.

4. Nasi Tumpeng is a traditional Indonesian dish for celebration purpose, it's served like red rice for Japanese, I guess. Anyway it's delish.

5. That comic took place in Himaruya's Hetalia gakuen AU, remember when I'm planing to make ASEAN fan webcomic based on Hetalia gakuen? Well, that comic up there would be the pilot project for them. That said, obviously Indonesia and Netherlands are my OCs and not canon....yet, anyway get to know them more here.

Also, I-I have a thing for sap okay? Don't judge me. T^T

Am I talking too much yet? Am I making you bored? Well, fasten your seat belt kids, since I still have some things under my skirt.

So, have you guys, my Indonesian peers watched MERAH PUTIH yet? Well, if you haven't I gotta say you should definitely watch it bb! And I can't help but being reminded of scrapbook's fic whenever I watched the combat part. Hohoho that fic is way too epic, bb! ;D And it also made me remember, I haven't show you the fanarts I made from that fic, have I? Well, remind me later, kay hun?

The effects are nicely done! Something that's rare for Indonesian movies nowadays, although there are some things that making me wince (with a lot of bloopers) the story kinda doesn't make sense, but that's because it's still part one. The rest of the trilogy (I hope) would make the story better! Although that will not be until next one or two years but well.....
And a little more research certainly wouldn't hurt, dear movie maker. Some of the properties seems 'off' and not relevant to the time line it supposed to be. D: Well, I'm not really complaining though, at least now I have official design for Indonesia's uniform post-WW2 era.

Like this, whoo-hoo:

Lol the hat looks like the one those 'Rumah Makan Padang' waiters use on their heads.
Not so bad, eh?

Anyway, that's it for now. Thanks so much for viewing. ;D

movie what?, art, netherlands, hetalia, indonesia, independence, original
