jalover7... I have been consuming post-finale fic like a crazy person since the finale, and this is by far one of the most satisfying things I've read. The scene with the horn was even more amazing than I could have hoped for. Arthur convincing Merlin to go back to Camelot was beautiful... that scene rang achingly true for both characters. My heart broke for them, but I was also so happy that they got to have those extra moments, and Merlin was able to turn away without looking back. This was really beautiful. My heart aches at the thought of Merlin spending all that time waiting for Arthur alone. I love that Merlin uses the horn to bring Arthur back and that Arthur tells him to live.

I teared up when they finally told each other, verbally at least, that they loved each other. My heart broke for Merlin when you described everyone he loved dying and how he had to move on every time. So, so happy Merlin was able to keep his promise to Arthur, and that they were reunited in the end.

I have to tell you I am crying now, but this was one of the most beautiful codas I have read, and I love the idea that Arthur would want Merlin to Live, I believe that is what Arthur would have wanted.

Damn, you made me cry. And I'd just made it a week without crying over these characters! But it was for a good cause since this was seriously one of the most beautiful, emotionally engaging tags I've read. That entire scene where Arthur tells Merlin to live and to love just grabbed my heart and squeezed. And yes, I agree that if Arthur had had the chance to speak with Merlin further, that's exactly what he would've advised.

And now, I have to hunt down everything you've ever written for Merlin fandom.

This is a lovely coda, and touches on so many important points in Merlin's journey.
