What? How did this annoying pig get his number and what was with this request?
Chinen trudged down the stairs, his mood completely ruined because of that irritating guy.
As he entered into their small kitchen, he saw his elder sister making his lunch for him.
“Hey Nee-chan can you make another bento too?” Chinen asked his sister as nicely as he could. He knew he couldn’t cook to save his life and so he guessed the safest thing to do would be to ask his sister.
“Eh, Why?”
“Umm… cause Yuto-kun always has wanted to taste Nee-chan’s food because of how nice it looks,” he answered innocently, knowing that flattering his sister was one of the only ways.
“Awww is that so. Well lucky I have a few left for another bento and since it’s for Nakajima-kun I guess ill make one.”
“Thank you,” He gave his sister a big smile before he went to go to the toilet. On his way back, he bumped into his mum with a pile of laundry.
“Good morning Yuri,” his mum greeted happily though Chinen noticed the tired look in her eyes that made him sigh to himself.
“Morning okaa-san.”
“How are you?”
I think the better question would be how are you? Chinen thought to himself but instead he just answered with an ‘I’m fine’ and excused himself.
After he got his bag and packed away the lunch, Chii left to go to school
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was finally lunchtime and everyone went to go to the canteen apart from Chinen, Yuto and Yamada.
Usually Yuto would have lunch that he bought before school so he could accompany Chii since the younger couldn’t really afford to also pay for school lunches. However today, he wasn’t able to get his lunch and therefore he had to go canteen and leave Yamada and Chinen in the classroom.
“So where’s my bento?” Yamada asked Chii as soon as Yuto left.
Chinen got his bag and took out the two small wrapped up lunches, sliding one to Yamada with slight annoyance. Why did he get stuck with this guy anyway- damn you Yuto for not buying your lunch today of all days.
“What was with that message anyway?”
“What? Yamada asked, “You’re my maid right?”
Chinen just gave an annoyed sigh, “Well how did you get my number?”
“Easy- I just asked Yuto for it.”
The younger mentally cursed the friendly carefree guy another time.
“Anyway, I would have asked you for it anyway so I can easily contact you when I need to,” Yamada said.
“Ok. Whatever, just eat your lunch already,” Chii snapped as he opened his lunchbox and smiled at how cute it was.
“So did you make this?” the guy in front of him asked when he also opened his lunch.
“No.”
“What? I thought I asked for you to make one,”
“Well I’m sorry I looked out for your health,” Chii answered back, “I’m just saying I saved you from death- you would never want to taste my cooking.”
“Well I did!” Yamada said stubbornly, crossing his arms, “So I’m not eating it!”
“Hey! My sister made the time to make it so you better eat that!”
The stubborn guy just kept his arms crossed.
“Oh come on! What do you want me to do?”
With that a sneaky smile spread across Yamada’s face making Chii regret what he said.
“Fine. I’ll only eat it if you feed me.”
“What?!”
Yamada pushed the lunchbox towards the younger, “Go on then feed me,”
Chinen was going to protest when he remembered about the deal and sighed as he took the lunchbox and proceeded to feed the annoying guy in front of him. As Yamada leant forward to eat, the younger realised how embarrassing it was and tried to stop himself from blushing. He couldn’t meet the elder’s gaze as he continued to feed the pig, trying to erase from his mind the thought that this was what couples usually did. At one time, he thought he even sensed someone in the door of the classroom but when he looked there was no one there.
Once Yamada finished eating, he leant back and sighed, “That was delicious! You’re sister sure knows how to cook,”
Chinen smiled, as he loved it when people complimented his sister who he was so proud of.
“But of course it was even better because my cute maid fed me,” Yamada said smirking as he knew the younger would react.
“Shut up,” Chii said as he flushed crimson and faced the other way to hide it making Yamada snigger.
“I realised I never asked you but why do you work in the maid café?”
“To get money,” Chinen answered back sarcastically.
“Well why in a maid café as a maid?”
“Well you see that was kind of a misunderstanding. I usually work in the back washing the dishes and taking out the rubbish. I only work as a maid sometimes when my manager asks- it means extra money so I don’t reject the offer.”
“Right…”
“It’s the truth. Unlike some people, I have to try to accept all offers I get.”
“How about your mum or dad, don’t they also work?”
“I don’t have a dad, he died when I was young. My mum does so much to look after us she’s destroying her own health but still that’s not enough and so my sister and me try our hardest to help with the family. I’m lucky enough to get into this school with my scholarship.”
Yamada just stared at Chinen with those brown eyes of his.
“Hey don’t pity me ok?” the younger said when Yamada still didn’t say anything, “I seriously don’t need it from you.”
The elder just shook his head and smiled, “It’s not really that ii pity you, actually it’s more that I admire you.”
This made Chinen stop.
“Admire me?”
“Yeah. I’ve never really had to work hard for anything since my family is pretty well of but you’re even doing these type of things just to help your family.”
Chii glanced at Yamada and saw that the guy seemed to be absolutely serious. “Thanks I guess…”
A silence passed between them as they just looked at each other in the quiet of the classroom.
A sudden thought then suddenly occurred to Chinen, “Yamada, why were you at the maid café anyway?”
“Oh well… it’s because of my sister,” he answered, “She does this type of article for a women’s magazine and we were going to go buy a present for our little sister when she asked I could accompany her to the café.”
“Right…” Chii said mockingly
“Hey! I’m telling the truth!” the elder protested.
“Sure, sure,” he said and couldn’t help but smile as Yamada smiled back at him
“I think that was the first time you actually called my name or smiled at me genuinely,” Yamada stated happily.
“Hmm…what are you talking about?” Chinen pretended to be busy packing away the lunchboxes.
Just then Yuto bounded in with his usual energy.
“Hey guys! Missed me?”
Both looked up at the tall skinny guy and laughed.
“I bet you did but then again I guess it was good time for you two to bond, right?” he started nudging Yamada who was closest to him, “So what were you guys talking about while I was away?”
“Nothing much,” Chii answered.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“No way! I do not believe that for a second,”
“It’s true apart from my current girlfriend right now, I’ve never been in a relationship before!”
Already Yuto wouldn’t believe that Yamada has had only one girlfriend because of how popular he is but Chii knew about how that ‘girlfriend’ wasn’t real and therefore was even more shocked.
“Of course hundreds of girls have confessed to me but I’ve never accepted any of their confessions and never had a relationship,”
“Oh,” Yuto said, “So kind of like Chii.”
Yamada turned his head towards Yuto in question.
“If you may not know but Chii here is actually quite popular, with his cute looks, academic intelligence and sport skills,” Yuto stated in a presenter type tone, making the said person scowl at him, “This year, 15 girls and 5 guys and a half have confessed to my cute best friend.”
Chinen looked at Yuto, “Wait a second. How do you know? And what’s the ‘half’?”
“I’ve been keeping track my dear friend,” Yuto placed an arm around Chii, “Oh and the ‘half’ is that guy who always used to annoy you which we found out was actually because he liked you however since then has never shown his face.”
“You never told me you were popular,” Yamada teased the younger, who stuck his tongue out in return.
“Now that I think about it, it’s been quite long since someone last confessed to you Chii,” Yuto remarked, “Maybe it’s because of you, Yamada.”
“Sorry for stealing your spotlight,” Yamada said as he smirked at Chinen’s annoyed face.
Right then Sou came up to the trio and tapped the chibi on the shoulder, “There’s a boy at the door and said he wants to talk to you.”
They all looked over and saw a guy waiting at the classroom door looking quite shy.
“I guess I spoke too soon,” Yuto said as Chinen made his way over to the door.
Yamada’s eyes followed the younger and subconsciously a scowl formed on his face. He watched as the other guy bowed and shyly introduced himself to Chinen who smiled back at him warmly. When Chinen asked what the guy wanted, the guy leaned in and whispered to Chii, taking all of Yamada’s strength to not go over and push the guy away.
“Do you think Chii will accept his confession?” Yamada asked Yuto through his annoyance.
“No. He never does,” Yuto replied, making Yamada feel a bit more relaxed.
However he was shocked when he heard Chii say ‘Yes’ to the guy. Without thinking, he found himself rushing up to the chibi and taking him by the hand, pushing the other guy out of the way and made his way to the roof top.
When he stopped, he turned to face Chinen, “Why did you accept his confession?”
In response he got a confused look, “Confession? Suzuki-san was asking me if I could tutor him.”
“What?”
Chinen pointed to himself, “Intelligent, remember?”
“Oh.” Yamada didn’t what to do or say.
“Anyway- why do you care so much?” the chibi questioned.
“Well… because… you’re my maid,”
“How does that have anything to do with my love life?”
“Well… if you’re in a relationship you can’t focus on being a maid to me, your master.” Yamada reasoned out.
“Wait do not tell me it’s a rule that I can’t get into a relationship.” Chii exclaimed.
“Why? Are you thinking of having one?” the elder asked teasingly.
The younger blushed, “Well…No- Not really…”
“Then it shouldn’t be problem,” Yamada put his arm around Chinen’s shoulders, “Well lets get back to class then.”
Chinen pushed Yamada away and ran ahead. "Baka!"
