Thoughts of the day
Well today I had this great idea for a long post, comprising of many parts, but as our maisonette is more like a halfway house, we again have someone staying with us. One of Cir's friends may be getting divorced so is staying with us and as such we had to rearrange the house AGAIN! And I forgot half of my topics :p
So I put everything back into my room, rather than them being in the living room (one of my computers and my ps2). And even though i started it today, after 3 hours i got bored and decided to leave the big job til tomorrow. The 'rewiring' of my room. Here's my basic plan which doesn't have USB connections, mice/keyboard connections and pc audio connections. It does have power (pink), communications (red), TV audio (green) and video (blue) connections. And they aren't to scale either.
So up comes the carpet and down go the new wires, the main trouble being the 4 Ethernet cables from the hub, and I know I could go wireless but wired is so much faster and more secure. So yay is me :p
Well I mentioned to you all a few days earlier about the book Cir had read by the pickup artists. Well I started reading it and it is rather funny as it chronicles downs as well as ups, but it did click a few buttons in my head. A couple of quotes from the book:
"A man has two primary drives in early adulthood: one toward success, power and accomplishment; the other toward love, companionship and sex."
That is so true. It might not be for girls/women but for guys it so is! And like the guy in the book (it's said right at the start), I am only half a man, as I sort of have the first lot but have none of the second. So thats something I need to change.
The second quote is this:
"They call it one-itis. It's a disease AFC's (average frustrated chump) get: They become obsessed with a girl they're neither dating nor sleeping with, and then start acting so needy and nervous around her they end up driving her away. The cure for one-itis is to go out and have sex with a dozen other girls - and then see if this flower is so special."
Now I have one-itis. But I don't want to go out and sleep with a dozen other girls as that goes against one of my goals in life, to sleep with as few women as possible (call me old-fashioned). But it's surprising as to how true that is. A good book, just not so keen on some of the ideas in it (yet).
Now this is probably #2 on my Most Played List on my iPod after 'The Perfect Match' by the same group. They're the A-Teens, they herald from Sweden and are very cheesy Pop music which I love! So here are the lyrics to their song 'Halfway around the World':
