Skipping bowling tonight to hammer out some design documents for work tomorrow. Been having a blast all week; tonight's the first day I've been home at a reasonable hour, and I used the time to cook myself dinner, which is something I haven't done enough of lately. My folks will be in town this weekend to drop off my furniture I left in Maine;

Holy crap!!?! Snowblower accident!? That's horrible. I hope she's doing ok. When did this happen?

It happened (I think) 2 weeks ago. She was snowblowing the driveway when the snowblower stalled. The ice/slush she was clearing was viscous enough to slow the engine to the point where it stopped. She began clearing the blocked auger with her hand, and the engine turned over. It took off most of her right index finger, and about a centimeter off her right middle finger, shattering the bone in the process. She's doing very well. She has an excellent orthopedist, who recommended that the severed index finger (which happens to be the least useful digit) not be re-attached, as it would not improve her manual dexterity.
