I'm not sure if this would be considered "feedback" or a question but I confess I'm curious about something: there are times when I feel like James's personality seems to be... all over the place. Like, at times it can seem like he's bordering on being quasi-bipolar, maybe? I get that some characters are just like it, but is that more a matter of his personality being eccentric or is there some underlying reason aside from that?
Oh! And aside from that, I'd like to say you're pretty cool for putting up with all the flak he's probably getting.
Ah! I noticed that was a common question a lot of people have been asking... I mean, not to ME but it is a general curiosity.
The answer is that the bi-polarness of his actions ARE intentional because that's the way 1) the experiment has altered him to be and 2) because he was slightly bi-polar even before the accident.
As a kid he was pretty normal until his parents were murdered. Afterward was the start of the weird personality thing when the normal side of himself started clashing with his own need for a stronger personality and will to survive so he wasn't cast to the side after losing the support of his parents.
And to further his own slightly differentiating personalities, his experiment made it so his own withdrawn and reticent personality that he had no matter what side of his own human self he was in at the time, is ALSO messed with as his increased animal tendencies make him a more sociable person

This is just a bit of a heads-up. People aren't really going to want to comment anonymously if you have IP Logging on. You can change that in your account's privacy settings.
Another tip - I didn't notice until you made a new post, sorry, but you should probably make this a date-out-of-order post so that it's always at the top of your journal here. If you don't know how to do that I could help you.
Physically- Muscles... he has them... yes he does... Somehwhere... Very much a pansy, James avoids fights as best he can, though he can transform into a more burly form if pushed, but this almost never happens as he's totally terrified of being beaten up
But I often see James in his threads acting all confrontational and physically threatening, like with the knives and such. Can you elaborate?
James grew up in New-York living on his own and having to defend himself. He hates having to get physical because he's 1) not very good at it unless he REALLY is trying, and 2) because he doesn't like getting hurt or hurting people.
In Luceti he's had to rely a lot more heavily on his own physical capabilities and grow more confident in the use of them because of the more serious threats to his own person and his new friends. Kefka being his main reason to even bother trying to hurt people as he now almost continually threatens himself and the safety of his friends. Another example is when Klonoa, someone he knew well enough to know that he was a good guy, got dissected and killed by Medic. These are both extreme threats that would cause anyone, even someone who is normally passive, to take action and try and better himself.
In short, if the occasion forces him to rise up to defend himself and others, he will try his best at doing just that.
Lemme know if that answers your question or if you need for explanation.
Hey! Drive-by anon here, but I want to say that I think your OC is really interesting and I've enjoyed seeing some of his threads around! It would be really great to see what you'll do with him in the future... I mean, I have to admit I'm not exactly a fan of furries, but I think you're doing well with the character! I have a few OCs around myself that are kind of, well, not exactly mentally stable. And I've gotten a lot of negative crit from a lot of people about how "stupid" or "different" they sound each time they post. It just makes me feel lousy, and I've seen what some people have been saying about your character, and it seems totally unfair and unprecedented to me - more than that, you don't deserve it. So this is just some drive-by love for a character that I really happen to like, despite what people have said. I hope you don't let the haters get to you, because I think your OC has a lot of good potential and I'd really love to see him stick around! ♥♥
Thank you, I can't even begin to say how much that means to me, I'm really glad that someone here is really liking James and I can't wait to tag with you even if I dunno who you are~
I don't know about River, but I've seen you do this with both James and Gippal now and I just don't get it. What's the deal with using strikeouts in voice/action posts? It's confusing to me, because those can be taken in a couple different ways - are those supposed to be your character's thoughts? Are they speaking under their breath? Or is it something else entirely? Considering how often you use them, I think it's important to be more specific about what the strikes are supposed to represent, because I know that if I were threading with you, I'd have no idea how to take that.
Strikeouts can really be whatever the other tagger makes them to be.
To me, they're just a bit of thinking or communication that's going on but isn't be said. Jokingly usually, if you couldn't see that from the content that I strikeout.
If there is anything that needs to be said about what my characters are doing through text, I will more then likely tell you, if there isn't a little ooc note at the bottom saying that the strikeouts, or whatever else it is you have to confuse you at the moment, then they more then likely mean absolutely nothing, just a little something to make things interesting.
