I know where you're coming from. I've always been a music fanatic. I managed a record shop for 6 years, so I like a lot of genres. Hence, I watched AI to see what might pop up. I NEVER voted though, I swear. Oh, I was happy Kelly won, I was unhappy Daughtry didn't. But, I never got vested before because I never really thought my vote would count for much...I mean, this was NOT the presidental election. But, David Cook had me voting from the top 24. Two hours, every dang Tuesday night. I had the keypad to my house phone memorized by thumb so I could continue to vote and watch my other shows that came on after AI while I voted. He has had me since the audition..ears, mind and soul. That VOICE...my God. Just...my god. Some quality in it, the timbre, the phrasing, the grittiness..something. It has snagged me in a way that no other voice has. And, you're right, no matter what he's doing, how frufru they've made him up and what designer they've made him wear, he's the real, genuine deal underneath the guyliner and Versace. Word to this. His voice.. je na sais quoi, I just can't... it's got hooks or something, pulls you in and keeps you there. And haha, yeah I don't think I could get over it even if I want to. I have a feeling, a strong one, that I'll be a fan of his music for life. Unless he goes Miley Cyrus. Then I'll have to smack him on the head or something. Then again, David Cook would rock that too. Haha.

You win at life. I... could not say this better myself, so I'm all OMG OMG OMG... yes, I'm fangirling your post.

See, I tend to be a fan but not a fangirl, you know? But here I am, absolutely vested in this man's career, and 'converting' everyone I know to him, and he will probably never know who I am. He just oozes charisma for me, and his voice is so distinctive and rich... I'm not a big fan of talking about people's je ne sais quoi, but he's definitely got it by the boatload.

And he's so damn nice!

Yeah me too, you know. I didn't do the fangirl business... the closest I got was Josh Groban, but nothing like this. This time I'm closely following where else then was just buying the records and occasionally checking into the forums (because he used to post updates himself).
