I've tried explaining to people that I hate labels of all types. Whether that be gender, sexuality, religion, race, butch/femme, etc. Most people don't seem to understand it. They say it's necessary to categorize people in order to learn more about what that person is like; that is, to pass judgement on someone's likes and dislikes based on their ( Read more... )

While its not a good thing to put people into labels, at a certain point we do have to use labels to define ourselves. Straight or gay- understandable, someone needs to know what genitals you prefer. White, Black, Tan, blue, green- well i dont really need to explain this one, its common sense, for form and what not. Religion- not really important except for scholarships, some times you can get a scholarship for your religion (which is why i always put Johovias witness since its fairly uncommon). And Male/female- again common sense.

Honestly who do you know thats asking you to label yourself? That makes me wonder about them as a person.
