Actually you could still get married by a church, but the government would not recognize it.

Anon poster is right on that one james - you can still get married all you want, the government will just not levy you the rights that heterosexual couples receive.

Typo there, not "rights" that they receive from government, but benefits that the governments bestows upon them for being married.

i totally agree james. the constitution should not be used to discriminate against anyone. i understand that a lot of religions are against homosexuality but that shouldn't be taken into account by the government while making the decisionbecause church and state are supposed to be separate.
