I did this
last year, on the blog I never updated. All the books I read over the course of 2006...
1. Mutineer's Moon, David Weber
2. 1610, A Sundial in A Grave, Mary Gentle
3. Hell Island, Matthew Reilly
4. Labyrinth, Kate Mosse
5. Cobweb, Neal Stephenson and Fredrick George
6. Iron Council, China Miéville
7. The Science of Discworld II: The Globe, Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart & Jack Cohen
8. The Science of Discworld III: Darwin's Watch, Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart & Jack Cohen
9. Blood Rites (Dresden Files 6), Jim Butcher
10. Dead Beat (Dresden Files 7), Jim Butcher
11. Seven Ancient Wonders, Matthew Reilly
12. Altered Carbon (Takeshi Kovacs 1), Richard Morgan
13. Newton's Wake, Ken Macleod
14. Seduced by Moonlight (Meridith Gentry 3), Laurell K. Hamilton
15. Wintersmith, Terry Pratchett
16. The Caves of Steel, Isaac Asimov
17. Recursion, Tony Ballantyne
18. The Rest of the Robots, Isaac Asimov
19. Stone, Adam Roberts
20. Schlock Mercenary: Under New Management, Howard Taylor
21. Schlock Mercenary: The Blackness Between, Howard Taylor
22. Revelation Space, Alister Reynolds
23. 101 Dalmatians, Dodie Smith
It's not a huge list, unfortunately. Like last year it doesn't include books I browsed rather than read, generally references like roleplaying games or cookbooks. Also like last year, there are two graphic novels and one book from the
Baen free library on the list and as always I read 101 Dalmations a chapter a night in the run up to Christmas. I caught up all the Dresden Files but started on Richard Morgan and Alister Reynolds, so I'm going to have plenty to read for this years list. I'm hoping to top thirty this year.
