Why write about thought?

How people think: I don't think a bunch of us sharing experiences is gonna crack this open.

So why write about it? A list of reasons:
1) There may be real research on this -- if any of it is lay-readable, I'd like to know about it. Turn me on to what is out there if you know anything.

"There may be real research on this" - yes, Cognitive Studies. It's fascinating. Some folks work on the hardware aspect (how the brain is physically set up) and some folks work on the software aspect (how our minds are set up and what influences this) and some folks work on other aspects such as the social or emotional functions. Sadly, most people fail to comprehend "research" from more than one aspect due to personal biases based on their own mental structure (or lack thereof.) For instance, a person whose decision-making preference leans toward considering their own and other people's emotions rather than making a decision based on a mathematical or "logical" approach will generally not understand that the term "emotional intelligence" is an oxymoron due to the actual physical structure of the brain. Most human beings are not comfortable unless they are constantly assigning values to anything and everything. It makes absolutely no sense to give values of "good" and "bad" to emotions. They are what they are, an internal mechanism ( ... )
