I can't believe my navel gazing last post didn't spawn vigorous discussion. Why just two years ago it would have had at least one comment, from me following up to myself, clarifying a point that nobody cares about.

LJ really is dying!

It is. I've been thinking about your post, and where I fall on the spectrum of boring and stable to manufactured crises. I think I've been more boring and stable for the last few years, but certainly still capable of massive meltdowns.

Oh, LJ IS dying alright. But I still check it now and then, just not so often - which is why I didn't comment on your post. I will remedy that in a moment, as there's something I'd actually like to say in response to it.

As for myself, I decided to keep on posting every once in a while - when I feel like writing something journalish. My 5-part series on a recent Vegas vacation seemed to have garnered a fair number of comments, especially considering how light the LJ traffic has been of late. Maybe it was all the frank talk about sex.

Then again, when the gay sex descriptions got a bit graphic, the comments dropped off to nothing. Everything in moderation, I suppose.

But it seems LJ can be persuaded to limp along for at least a little while longer.

Perhaps you could post in Russian, or add a porn image?

Weird coincidence, the first commenter above just got back from Russia a couple days ago.

My livejournal isn't dying, I write frequently on a wide range of subjects, some boring, some not. I think I've got four separate solid books forming in my journal. I sometimes think my journal should only be read via tags. :-)

What has died is the group that I originally formed with. Sometimes I go on a random search for someone who appears to have a brain and something interesting to say and I add them to my feed. I just did that with you today - not based on your open journal entries lately, but based on some book reviews you've done in the past.

I like to read non-fiction and review them in my journal (under the tag "books", duh.)
