I've decided that I was wrong to leave the classroom last year. And so, just about 9.5 months after starting this job, I'm actively and eagerly looking for my next teaching position. Jeez, what a decision. Also, if I looked at things that way, I would have left this job LONG ago; that said, it is helping me to (almost) be able to afford applying to grad school, so.

It might not be your bag (because it's maybe the most privileged of the public schools), but my buddy Tim is currently working some sort of hybrid substitute/maternity leave thing at Northside Prep, which is sort of like having an in there.

Also: former Jester and NUMBalum Jim Schwartz is the principal at an environmental science charter school near Garfield Park.

Either way, if those will help, follow it up!

Thanks for the leads-- I'll look up Jim's school. I'm not really into the magnet preps, at the moment, as a matter of social justice... :)
