Passports are fun stuff! I just got mine this week. Where are you getting yours? You know if you go to the Seattle Passport Agency in the federal building downtown you can get it in two days...I think there's an additional fee of $60 bucks though. But two days is a lot better than three months or what the hell ever.

Was your birth certificate certfied? It has to be like an original copy or whatever. You said you got it from the hospital though, so it sounded like it was. Or if you have an old passport from anytime in your life, you can use that instead.

We went to the regional justice center in Kent. Yea, I guess they weren't certified. It's so rediculous. I don't think it should matter...it's not like they're strict at all about who they give the originals too.

I had to get my passpot renewed to go to Africa, and I just got mine at the Federal Way City Hall over by Celebration Park. I had to get mine expedited because the trip was unexpected and had lost mine a couple years ago on a family trip to Mexico.

My mom and I are taking a mini trip to Canada at the end of April. Supposedly you can just use your birth certificate...but I don't trust myself not to lose it while I'm there =P.

haha, I can see when you go to get married or something and need proof of your birth in the licensing office line...

"Yes, we're going to need a valid birth certificate in order for you to obtain your marriage license.."

"Well, I lost it when I was 20 in Canada.."

"Well then, not only are you not allowed to marry, you no longer exist! Have a nice day. NEXT!"
