I often find that the less I have to do, the less I do. I did far better on the 20+ unit quarters, even if I had little free time (or perhaps, because of it).

i think i always get things done, it's just a matter of when. If there's a challenging class and i suspect i might fall behind, i'll make more of an effort to keep up. Perhaps i'm not being challenged enough?

I took QM during a 26 unit quarter. I stayed afloat. Have you taken anything more challenging?

my graduate analysis course is pretty challenging. I think that I might just have an (unrealistic) expectation of myself to constantly study material for classes, without taking breaks outside of class. It sometimes seems to me that some people are capable of doing this, but I don't feel like I'm one to treat learning about a subject as relaxing recreation. You seem to be one of them, though =D

You have to figure out exactly what the right balance is. 20 was too much for me, but 12 was too little. Also depends on the classes, as always.
