This is the last time I follow instructions

I got a parking ticket for not putting my permit on display today. I was taking it off and on the rear view mirror because the instructions say to remove it. I thought it might be considered a moving violation. I've heard that you can get one or two uci parking tickets waived if you own a uci permit...so I'm waiting to hear on that. Still, the ( Read more... )

Yeah. Tell them your story, they usually waive it for me when this happens.

I take it down every time I drive. Considering some folks that you and I both know (I'll leave names out, but you probably know who I am referencing) did get moving violations for their permit being in their rear-view mirror, I would recommend that you take yours down when you drive.

wow I didn't know anyone actually got it (who was it?). I actually wrote and erased the sentence in my original post twice because I was self conscious about how silly it sounds to think such a small object could merit a moving violation.

I won't disclose the name, but I will ask the person to tell you.

The small object can be a moving violation, but is usually in conjunction with something else. You aren't likely to get pulled over for it. But then again, I don't know what you drive.

Back at CHS, there were police pulling people over about once a day for permit-moving-violations.

I'm pretty sure you can get that one waived, but make sure to submit it in time. I believe you have to do it within three weeks. As for taking the parking permit on and off, I don't. I don't see how it could be considered anymore of a moving violation than hanging any decoration from your rear view mirror, which many people do. My guess is that that text is written just as a safeguard. You know, someone might get into an accident and try to sue UCI because their parking permits are too big, or something stupid like that. Basically the same reason why restaurants write "Caution: Contents are hot" on their coffee cups. ;x

Er, that was me.

Also, wow @ what Mike said. I've never got a moving violation for mine, and I've had mine up for the last four years. ._.;;
