Hooray for planting seeds. We have used the black bags and had success with potatoes in them. I hope they work well for you too :)

I like your explanation better. Finally got to ask daughter, and she said "just pretty steampunk touches". She also gave me a good explanation of the Sword & Broom ceremony they used. It was the longest email I've ever received from her! I was thrilled. Thanks for all your help. I hope & pray that Spring arrives very soon at your home.
