I'm lying in bed, reading my book in preparation for sleep, when Pepe decided to announce his presence outside the window! So-o-o-o I came flying out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind me, and decided to visit LJ for a while. I believe this is the first visit of the year for us. You mean Pepe sprays outside your bedroom window? I grew up in the country and we had skunks on the property. My brother got sprayed once and so did our dog (I think a couple of times). It was terrible! I remember my mom preparing a tub of tomato juice for my brother, but it took more than once to get rid of the smell.

I'm reading how warm it gets where you live. You seem to be about as hot as we are. Most days now it is high 80s and low 90s. I try and do the outside work in early mornings and after dinner. Is it humid where you are? That is the real killer here, the humidity in the summertime. We are still having some pleasant days with low humidity, but those will be coming to an end soon. Luckily most of our back yard in under the canopy of two huge oak trees.

Because of the heat, we have the bedroom window open with a fan in it. I don't know exactly where he sprayed, but since I was in the bedroom, the smell was strong coming through the window. I've never been sprayed, myself. I can't even imagine how terrible that must be! We used Nature's Miracle on the dogs, and it worked; not great but all right. The really bad time was when the poor dog got sprayed and came all the way through the house looking for us to help him. The smell stays in leather long after nothing else smells, so I had to throw away some shoes and a purse ( ... )

So different climate we have. We still need to have the heating on. I'm typing here in long sleeved fleece hoody-jacket.
We have no air condition in our apartment. this was hard when it last year in July was so hot.
