I wouldnt blame all males...you have to take into consideration what type of male was hitting on you...

1)A black man...need I say more?

2)An arab man...cut them some slack, their religion probably prohibits them from even looking at their own penis

3)A cab driver...once again, need I say more?

My suggestion...buy some mace and invest in self-defense training. Or you could get me and jake to dress as chicks and scare the living fuck out of them when they find out we're both guys =D
