Now that sounds impressive. Riding without reins is scary! Fun, but scary. And I've never managed a figure-8 :D

riding without reins on Tipsy was absolutely terrifying because she tends to bolt. i always feel like i need my reins to control her, but a short rein makes her anxious and tense and Pam wanted to show me that. i was so scared to drop her reins, but i am so proud of her and myself.

Once you get use to squeezing to get her to drop her head, its so much easier and smoother. It took me a while to get use to having slack in my reins too, I'm ok with it now though.
