it's 2 am. some kid; i dont know him, was just found in my suite. his friends say he funnelled 13 beers tonight. he was entirely unconscious when i saw him. and started vomiting. it took like 15 minutes for the ambulance to come. he breathalized a .21. he's at the hospital now and i just hope he makes it. i think that since he vomited some that is

its totally normal to have doubts. especially when you are thrown into a situation that you aren't familiar with. and its two in the morning.
you did good. and you did the right thing.
and yes, its a good sign when they throw up.

one night i stayed in rez with friends, we were having a party, and one of the guys ended up drinking pretty much an entire 26'er to himself. he ended up in emerg that night. but, what i hadn't realised was he had been drinking it with orange pop, and i think he had a couple drinks with creme soda too, so when it puked, it was red. that didn't go over so well, lol, and then someone explained what he'd been drinking, and it was okay. the hospital is walking-distance to the residence, they share a backyard, so i was ready to take him over there myself because the ambulances come from in town, and they were taking a lot longer than i thought they should have.

You will be a great nurse.. even with experience, a code is stressful and your adrenaline is going but somehow you just KNOW what to do.. it's quite strange.. but you will be able to do it, don't worry hun.
