Ok. The pairing squicks me a little, but it was so funny and well-written that I just couldn't resist. Now I must read more.

I know; it's... I mean, I have a definite mental pairing for Tony, because MovieverseTony is clearly meant to be with Pepper, and I adore them as a couple. I really don't get the Tony/Steve pairing, because, well, Tony/Pepper, and Steve/Peggy, and possibly somebody else later. Putting them together makes no sense to me. It's like.... I love the characterization in every other way, I just have to kind of read past the bit where the author is putting them together romantically.

The other pairing that author writes makes even less sense; I tend to just skip anything between those two characters and get back to the Roombas. And the toaster.

I'm just going to assume you kept reading this because you couldn't stop yourself, just as I have, and that you've picked up the other stories in the series as well. If not, stop right now and go read them. An alien culture that worships Tony Stark and his sentient toaster! Why oh why must she write the slash pairing as well?!

See, yes? And yes.... all of the other stories. Including Coulson having to manage the Avengers (who are not allowed to go to Ikea anymore; yes, Thor, this means you...).

(and of COURSE it was always going to be aliens and sentient toasters! Of course it was....)

I have to say, though, I am probably going to get to the part in that story where it goes from pre-slash to actual slash, and then stop reading. Because... yeah, in my head, it's the movieverse pairings, and Tony/Pepper in the movieverse are adorable and fantastic (as are Steve and Peggy, of course).
