Thursday night was a rough night at my store. There's drama and I swear to Howard Schultz that I was trying to alleviate some of it and at the very least get the air cleared rather than contribute to it by talking to my manager. Oh you poor thing. Possums are big wussies...they huddle in a corner and then HISS...of course, you don't wanna get CLOSE, just in case they decide to actively defend themselves, but mostly they'll hiss like mad. I cornered a smallish possum once, by the outside of my fireplace at my old house, and it just huddled in the smallest ball it could and hissed away at me.
You did the right thing by not pressing the issue, though...and it's a good reminder about garbage! *HUGS* Better an opossum than a raccoon, though, because they WILL come at you.
