At the end of the day you're another day older....

Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, and thanks also to those who sent birthday greetings to frodo_lad four days ago. I really can't believe it's been a year already. El's first year went pretty quickly, but this last year has gone even faster, presumably in part because I was twice as busy ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday!

Sorry to hear about the sickness. There are still so many bugs going around of one form or another. Hope you feel better soon.

((hugs))

I am glad you got away for a dinner out alone with your significant other, but I am sorry your party was a bust! This summer has been so odd re: the weather!

Poor you! Hayfever is miserable! If it were me I think I'd use the antihistamine nose/eye stuff - as using topical medication the dose will presumably be much higher locally - I'd start at the lowest dose and use cautiously, maybe just in the evenings, and keep an eye out for excessive drowsiness in baby (seems unlikely, from the teething thing!)... failing that would prob go for a steroid nasal inhaler thing. That shouldn't be incompatible with BF, should it? It seems mad for the pharmacist to tell you to struggle on through perfectly treatable symptoms, esp while you are also having a ME/CFS flare to contend with. You have to balance the theoretical risks against the downside of not having the drug - I wonder what the effect is on the baby of all your activated eosinophils passing through into the milk? who knows ( ... )

Second this advice! I merrily give antihisatmines to pregnant women, let alone topical stuff. Have a chat with gp

I have the Medications and Mothers Milk book by Dr Hale, which I use to check all medications for breastfeeding effects, and memorably brought along to argue with a doctor why she should prescribe me a different migraine med.

It's been worth its modest cost (about 15 quid?) several times over. I'm happy to look things up in it and scan the pages or similar too.

It does rather seem as if everything is conspiring against you at the moment! I hope you are able to be back on your feet properly soon and get to have a nice belated birthday tea for El to attend :)
