I'd say Purgatory - surely being squashed on de bus takes a few moments off one's torments?

Not that I take any pleasure from hearing the tales of your running woes in Ireland (ok not true, they are often amusing), may I just say there's quite a few American friends of mine I wish could read them? Some of them are so convinced that Europe = Shangri-la and USA = repressive, imperialistic hellhole that they need a reality check. Assholes, unfortunately, are no respecters of national borders.

Yeah, I think no place is really any less populated by assholes than any other place. There are different cultural trends in assholery, but truly they are everywhere.
