I think you know what I think about the places I went. I'll just add all university experiences are highly program specific, e.g. someone in the MBA program at Janeandsimple University will have a completely different life than someone in the math Ph.D. there.

yes, that goes without saying, but i figure program-biased information is better than no information, and actually i'm especially interested in things that apply across programs- local student life, for example- anyway.

I'd be happy to talk to you about this - Ottawa & Toronto specific.
Too much to say here though.

2 additions:
1. while Kay would be a better authority on Queens, I can speak to the Theological College
2. I certainly won't be plugging any of them

Ooh, how come?

So I went to King's like half the people you know, for theatre, and everyone who has gone to King's will tell you it's the best school in the entire world if you like that sort of thing.

I also did Philosophy at Dal. They have an awesome department.

Anyway you already know about Halifax.

I also also went to UBC for my MA, and I didn't love Vancouver (expensive, lifestyle-obsessed, fun for outdoorsy things but nowhere good to go dancing), but UBC is a really decent school for pretty much everything. I have no idea what student life type things are like there because I was already an old married lady when I was there.

God, I miss school.

I went to Dal! I studied biology! I liked Halifax, I am realizing just how much I liked it by how much I miss it now. I didn't get much out of my program, but I also didn't put much in. I skipped classes, I failed classes, I made no meaningful relationships with professors, I graduated with no idea what to do next. Now I work in a book store ( ... )

I went to The University of Ottawa. The Arts program is pretty good. I met awesome people, and there is generally lots to do since it's downtown near the market. It's bilingual. This can be a postive or a negative, depending on the person. Large classes (which I liked because I could get lost in them)and nice buildings in general.
