Name: Lennox Lauren
Age: 17
Location: Between Liverpool and Vancouver
What are some of your hobbies/interests?: Running, volleyball, music, reading, writing, baking, nature.
What are some particular likes of yours?: Tea, quiet afternoons with a book or a musical instrument, peace, history, sixties music, serenity.
What are some particular dislikes?: Loud, brash people, most people in general XD
Either describe your personality in five adjectives or write a short description, whichever you would rather do or think you are better at or think would give a better impression of who you are:
Probably in a few adjectives, diligent, serious, sly, devious, sarcastic, deadpan, topical, condescending, proud, kind, sweet, polite, and conservative, you might say. I have a very sweet, quiet front that I use while usually assessing the situation I walk into, while really I'm just observing who I should trust and how I should react.
What are your best attributes?: I'd say seriousness, being diligent, not afraid of breaking rules, ability to detect bullshit, and slightly, if ever so rudely, I may say humor.
What are ones that aren't necessarily flaws but might be seen as negative?: Stubborness, emotional disattatchment, pride, defensiveness, being extremely condesending, snide.
Do you have any special talents? What are you "good" at? (Could be anything from making clothes to giving advice.): I'm very good at sports, as well as writing and harbouring a talent in music as well.
Favorite book(s): The Godfather, All Quiet on The Western Front, Hamlet (Yes, not technically a book, but oh well XD)
Favorite movie(s): The Godfather, Brokeback Mountain.
Favorite quote(s): 'Convinced myself, I seek not to convince'-Edgar Allen Poe
What is your favorite Jane Austen novel, if you have one?: See below.
Do you have a favorite Austen heroine? Why her?: Not particularly. I was always drawn to 'Sense and Sensibility' though.
What do you value more in a novel, social commentary or romance?: A good dose of both. I love my satire, but I also, as much as I don't like to admit it, love true love.
What do you admire most in or about people?: I guess their psychological resilience. Their ability to come back from horrible things in life.
What is the characteristic you most value?: Probably a good bullshit detection factor. XD
What do you think is the most important thing about you?: Love, followed closely by words and music. Ah, the long suffering poet strikes again |D
Arrange these qualities in order of their importance, from most to least: Caring, selflessness, intelligence, wit, propriety, dignity, daring, idealism, pragmatism, integrity, unconventionality, humility:
Wit, daring, dignity, integrity, idealist, unconventionality, caring, selflessness, humility, intelligence, propriety. I put intelligence so low because I don't believe in intelligence. Any person breathing has basic human intelligence. What is much more important is smarts and wit, and the ability to not be blinded by intelligence. Also, with unconventionality, I think it's a stupid word, because everyone is slightly unconventional.
What is your opinion of marriage? I love the idea of it, if only for the cliche image and hugging someone else on the couch with a cuppa.
What is your view of love and relationships? I love having friends, having love in my life, I honestly couldn't be without it, but I am also very quiet most of the time and also very defensive, usually with smart-aleck comments to keep people at a length. Still, I need social interaction, much as I would prefer not to admit it.
What do you think is better, a life of love and poverty, or a life without love but with wealth (lack of love and plenty)?: A life of love and poverty. I think it was C.S.Lewis who once said, 'We love so we know we're not alone.' I very much agree with this.
Are you more impulsive or deliberate?: Deliberate, planned.
Are you more emotional or calm, levelheaded? I'm very calm. I can shut off my emotions on a dime.
Are you more humble or proud?: I'm extremely humble, but I'm also very proud. If someone insults me, they're going to hear about it.
Are you more quiet or sociable?: Very quiet. I don't suffer fools gladly, and usually society is full of them.
More defiant or acquiescing?: Definitely defiant. If I don't like something, I'll be sure to let you know.
More spontaneous, easy, unconstrained, or inhibited, anxious?: Neither, I'm quite steady, but I can be quite unconstrained if I don't see the point of something. If I don't like it, I will put absolutely no effort into it, yet I can spend six hours reading on my favorite subjects.
Are you ambitious?: I don't like that word. It stinks of backstabbing and duplicity.
What is your dream life like?: A quiet place in the wilderness with someone I love, animals, composing music and writing. I also play semi-professional sports, so if I was able to play professionally, I would love it.
What did you want to "do when you grew up"?: I'd like to write music or study music, as well as write and play professional sports for a few years.
Are you doing it to any degree? Have you grown up?: I'm getting there. I'm already at a high competition level for my sport, as well as studying different musical instruments, getting over my stage fright from a bad childhood experience, and usually write pretty constantly, yet lately more spottingly due to my depression.
Why do you enjoy the company of people?/Why are you friends with your friends?: I actually don't XD I find most people insufferable, and I think the world's full of idiots. As for my friends, I think I'm friends with them because they're literally the only people who can tolerate me. XD I can be seen as a very on-off personality, even though I'm very stable underneath and never get involved in drama. I can control my emotions on a whim and shut them off if I wish too, which I often do frequently to avoid getting hurt. Honestly though, I think I'm friends with my friends because they bring my out of my introspective nature. If I'm left alone for long periods of time, I can go days without speaking, usually crossed with self-analyzation and analyzation of others.
Are you close to your family?: Very. My family, wacky as they may be, are my definite support system. I honestly wouldn't be alive without them.
Who's someone you admire? Why?: The first few people that came to mind are Stephen Fry, George Harrison, Graham Chapman, Bob Dylan, John Entwistle, and Chopin. Mainly because I think these people have a quiet elegance around them, they're articulate, and didn't care what others thought of them.
What's your dream career?: Something preferably writing or in music, doesn't matter what. As long as I'm involved in some aspect, I'll be happy. I'd although like to continue with being a professional athelete for a couple more years.
What do you think of Jane Austen's writing in general?: She brought around modern literature as we know it, and for that I'm eternally grateful. And no, I'm not avoiding the question XDDD
What's your favorite article of clothing (pants, corset, etc.)? Any reason?: Nope XD
