I love my Captain.

So my mother (who is very helpful about keeping up with the intersection of fandom and reality for me) sent me an email last week to let me know that Nathan Fillion has a new show called Drive, which premiered last night. I was chatting last night with ubiquirk about our exchange pieces and whatnot, when she told me she was watching this very show. She related to me the name and basic premise, and I could not help but picture something along the lines of The Fast and the Furious with a made for TV addendum. I could not have been more wrong.

I plan on giving episode three a go tonight. With Tim Minear (Firefly, Wonderfalls) attached, it cannot be too bad.

With the exception of at least two silly souped-up cars and one or two Characters Possessed of Thuglike Attractiveness, no, there's not much in common with The Fast and the Furious xD

I was very much surprised at it -- I tend not to like television much, obviously, and even with the talent attached I was expecting mediocrity at best. But I was proven wrong, and have my phone-alarm set for every Monday at 7:55 now; I'm determined to follow the show.

I imagine it'll still be pretty follow-able without having seen the premiere. Let me know how you like it! :)

Wow...definitely worth following. Even though I missed most of the premiere, I was able to follow along tonight thanks to your recap and the bits ubi was feeding me.

Dylan Baker was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with his daughter. The lobotomy line was priceless!!
