My dad died this morning

Mum called, waiting until the kids had gone to school, and told me that Dad died at 6.00 a.m. in England

Oh honey, I am so sorry for your loss. Just reading about your father made me tear up. He sounds like a remarkable and lovely man, one who made a difference to the lives of those who knew him. My thoughts will be with you and your family.

Oh, Jane, my heart is with you and your whole family. I never met your father, of course, but I will always remember the stories you've told and the pictures you've shared of his magnificent flowers.

He was so young, but it is clear that he has lived a wonderful life given how many people love and mourn him.
