I was reminded ever so painfully of the icks of uni life today. I spent over an hour and a half simply trying ot hand in an assignment, why, because they need this specific cover sheet, or this god damned folder to put it in. What is wrong with staples??????? Grrrrr, the last twice I've headed into uni campuses I have been remindedabout how very ( Read more... )

I don't remember Sarah telling me about getting her kitten, not that I'm saying she didn't, it must have just escaped my memory. And anyway, this was something Katie came up with, not me.

I don't see how we are copying your lives...getting a kitten is something pretty common. Unless you consider being gay something I "copied" because all the cool kids are doing it :P I live all the way across the world, I don't think our lives can get much different.

Sorry if I'm coming across bitchy, but I thought the comment was pretty inappropriate considering how far from the truth it really is.

Okay. so I should probably stay out of this.. but it really really bothers me for a couple reasons that you made the comment in your LJ about copy cats.

First, I dont see any copy cats here. Whatever it is you think we/she/I are copying, we arent. Whether it be the kitten, the gayness, or something else, I can honestly say that we don't pay enough attention to your lives to copy it.

Second, I dont see how the two of you, who never even bother to ask Aimee what her life is like here would even have an inkling of what it consists of. So where is the judgment coming from? I mean honestly?

I'm not trying to spam your journal or anything, I just want to give you my opinion. I dont feel as if you know me at all or what kind of life I have with Aims. You have never even met me and you are already making all kinds of assumptions. (namely that I(we) copy you) I don't think that is very fair to either of us, do you?

The comment that the both of you have too quickly assumed is about either of you was actually made about my sister-in-law (my brother's wife).

If the comment you made is in fact about your sister-in-law, I apologize for commenting the way I did. I'm not going to apologize for assuming it was about us though. Your entry was written the day after I wrote about getting a kitten, and when I asked Sarah if you were writing about me she didn't say no - in fact, she said I should bring it up with you, which heavily implies that 'yes it is, but I don't want to get in the middle of this'. If it wasn't about me, why wouldn't she have just said no? She knew I was thinking it was about me, so being so suggestive and saying that I should bring it up with you when she knew it wasn't about us was pretty mean. I figured asking my sister if it was a pointed commment or not would get me a straight answer if it wasn't, but I guess not.

So again, I'm sorry that it caused trouble, but I think anyone in our situation would have felt as hurt and have come to the same conclusion.
